Our Process

Technology that brings ideas to life

To ensure that a knitted product not only looks great in the sample but also performs consistently in mass production, clear steps and the right techniques are essential. At Senbert, we integrate development, programming, flat knitting, finishing, cutting, and assembly into a seamless process. This results in solutions that are visually precise, feel great, and remain reliably producible.

Our Value Proposition

From the knitting design to the finished product

Flat knit

The foundation of your product is created through flat knitting. Using modern, computer-controlled machines from Stoll and Shima Seiki, we produce a wide variety of patterns. We manufacture knits ranging from 3 to 15 gauge and develop textured patterns, cables, intarsia, or jacquard patterns depending on your requirements. Techniques such as double-face, interlock, or weft-knitting are also available when functionality and aesthetics call for them.

Finishing

The finishing process determines the texture, drape, surface, and final appearance. By applying the appropriate finishing treatments, we can specifically influence the fabric’s properties—for example, to enhance stability, create a unique feel, or achieve a defined look. Upon request, we can also produce boiled knits, in which the surface is felted through the boiling process, resulting in a dense, high-quality appearance.

Cut

We use the cut-and-sew technique for cutting. In this process, knit fabrics are cut like woven fabrics and then sewn together. This method is particularly suitable when the design, shape, or small production runs make it the most practical approach. We ensure clean edges and efficient use of material.

Ready-to-wear

In the finishing department, garments are precisely assembled and finalized. Depending on the product, we use fully fashioned knitting techniques or produce garments using knit-and-wear or whole-garment technology, in which the garment comes out of the machine virtually finished. 3D knitting is also an option when shapes and contours need to be formed directly in a single step. The goal is always a cleanly finished product with consistent quality.
